Compass Trainees were in for a delightful surprise at the Palmwoods Bowls Club earlier this week being provided their very own Palmwoods Bowls Club shirts.
Each month, Compass trainees focus on a specific photography theme to refine their skills. Our judges then select a winner, and thanks to the generous partners that provide fantastic prizes.
This initiative offers trainees a wonderful opportunity to learn and improve their photography.
Within moments of Maddi Shannon entering the photo studio, it was like someone had turned up the lights. Her spirit was so bright, and her smile filled the room. She was captivating. A star.
Lester Carey is a young man who doesn’t let his disability get in the way.
On the days he attends Compass Farm, he does everything from working with animals, to making things in the woodworking shed, packing our jams and chutneys and being a farm hand.

Throughout the photoshoot for this project, Nienna would ‘unfurl’ like a flower when she was pampered and given a spotlight to perform with her favourite music on. Her playful, happy-go-lucky nature shone as brightly as the joy in her eyes.
As someone who appears very confident on the outside – often the life of the party and the first one to take charge of a task or a situation – her inner nature is in fact quite self-conscious and gentle. I told her a week ago that I wanted to interview her for this story, and she’s been nervous ever since, she tells me.
