There isn’t one way to receive support because there isn’t one way to live.
For one person, support might mean learning to cook a few meals, keeping on top of the house or building a routine that makes each day a little easier. For someone else, it could be catching the bus for the first time, meeting friends for coffee, volunteering in the community or finding a hobby they genuinely enjoy.
Whatever your goals look like, that’s where we start.
At Compass, we take the time to get to know you, what’s important to you, what you’d like to achieve and how we can help you get there. There are no set programs to fit into and no one-size-fits-all approach. Your support is built around your life, your interests and the pace that feels right for you.
Our Support Trainers work alongside you at home and in your local community, helping you build practical skills, confidence and independence in everyday life. Some days that might mean learning something new. Other days it might simply be having someone beside you as you take the next step towards a goal.
The little wins matter because they often lead to the big ones.
Over time, those everyday moments can become greater confidence, more independence and more opportunities to live the life you want.

Support does not always need to happen in a centre. Sometimes, the most meaningful progress begins at home, through familiar routines and in the places that are already part of everyday life.
Our Support Trainers work alongside you in your home and local community, helping with the everyday tasks and goals that matter most to you. That might mean learning to prepare meals, doing the washing, keeping your home organised, completing basic household maintenance or creating a routine that makes daily life feel more manageable.
This can also extend beyond the home. We can help you attend appointments, go shopping, use public transport, take part in community activities, explore new interests or feel more confident getting out and about.
We take the time to carefully match you with a Support Trainer whose skills, experience and personality are suited to you. Building a trusted and consistent relationship is important, so you can feel comfortable learning, trying new things and progressing at your own pace.
You remain in control. Together, we work out what you would like help with, when it is provided and how you would like things done. The goal is not to take over, but to work beside you, building your skills, confidence and independence while respecting your choices, routines and way of life.
