Sunshine Coast families invited to discover Compass

Date: Wednesday 14 October 2026 Time: 10.00am to 2.00pm Location: 48 Christensens Road, Hunchy, Queensland

Compass will open the gates to its Hunchy property on Wednesday 14 October, inviting Sunshine Coast families to experience the programs, people and practical learning opportunities helping people with disability build independence, confidence and connection.

The Compass Open Day will give visitors the opportunity to tour the organisation’s facilities and farm spaces, meet participants, volunteers and staff from across its campuses, and learn how Compass supports people with disability to continue learning, develop practical skills and participate more fully in their communities.

For parents and carers considering what comes next after school, the Open Day will also provide an opportunity to explore Compass’s programs and school transition options and speak directly with the people who deliver them.

Compass CEO David Dangerfield said the event would allow families to experience the Compass community firsthand.

“Choosing the right opportunities and support for someone you care about is an important decision. Our Open Day gives families the chance to meet our people, explore our facilities and see the different ways people with disability can learn, grow and thrive at Compass,” Mr Dangerfield said.

“It is also a celebration of what people can achieve when they are given the right environment, practical opportunities and support to develop in their own way.”

Visitors can tour the farm and facilities, meet Compass participants and team members, learn about the organisation’s programs and enjoy woodfired pizzas in a relaxed community atmosphere.
