Who We Can Support
Depending on your qualification and placement requirements, we may be able to offer placement opportunities. Placement availability is determined by programme capacity, supervision availability, and alignment with your course requirements.

Requirements
To be considered for placement, you will generally need:
Enrolment in a relevant qualification
Clear placement requirements from your education provider
A valid Working With Children Check and/or NDIS Worker Screening (if applicable)
A willingness to engage with Asset-Based practice principles

Compass is seeking volunteers across retail, gardening, food service, trades, administration and more. If you see possibility before problem and believe everyone has something valuable to contribute, we would love to hear from you.
At Compass, people with disability are not defined by limitations. They are individuals with unique gifts, talents and ambitions. Our Trainees are actively building skills, confidence and independence, and volunteers play an important role in walking alongside them as Allies and mentors.
This is not about “doing for.”
It’s about doing with.
Whether you’re sharing retail experience, supporting a garden project, mentoring in a workshop, assisting in food preparation, or contributing administrative skills, your role is to support growth, capability and real-world learning.
What You’ll Be Part Of
Volunteers work in structured, supportive environments alongside our team and Trainees. You may:
- Support retail and customer service experiences
- Assist with gardening and outdoor projects
- Share practical trade or workshop skills
- Help in food service and hospitality settings
- Contribute organisational and administrative expertise
